It was on a cottonwood tree, which grow fast, that was about 3 feet in diameter, so I would guess about 125 years old, give or take. For the age of the burl itself, I just don’t know. Good question, though.
Have you ever seen the art called Father time? When I looked at this I saw the opening as a mouth and all the knots and bumps as curls to the beard and mustache. Most art you see depicting Father time are of white headed and bearded men exhaling life or something like that. I like this! I’ll be back when I find that piece of art.
