Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
Take kindly the council of years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
You are child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life
keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams
it is still a beautiful world.

What a beautiful autumn mirror.
Thank you, Catriona!
I thought of you today – your pictures – the leaves are turning here in Athens (ga) now, much after yours. So beautiful. I’ve loved Desiderata for 45 years. It’s beautiful here.
Thank you, Mari. So glad you’re now enjoying the colors!
Oh myyy I am enthralled Caro
Glad you liked it, Caro!
more beauty.. today on special #33, i am drawn to the bridge and then the reflections of fire in the water. lovely words to accompany as well. thank you for sharing these
Thank you, Tania. The bridge also stood out to me, in two ways. One, the bridge itself, as a metaphor for transitions. And two, the bridge and its reflection, forming a portal to other dimensions.
exactly 😉 the bridge that connects all. reminds me of something i shared in an example recently
One of my favorites! Thank you 🙂
Thanks, Danica!!!
loveliness!
Thanks Cindy!

The water is so still! Lovely photos.
Yes, it was remarkably still this morning! I thought I had seen clear reflections before, but today it was just uncanny.
Thankyou for sharing Cnawan, such a beautiful season of warm colours and light.

Read this slow, and contemplate each picture. Quieting and peaceful words and pictures.
Thanks so much for the reblog, Rene! And I like the insight of approaching this slowly…
You are very welcome. I started to read it fast, just scrolling through the pictures, and then I had to go back. Upon reading from the beginning, slowly, I discovered a restful peace…almost as if I was on the lake, just listening to the birds in the beautiful trees.
mmmmmm……nice. The infinite stillness of the water did call those lines to mind. So glad that it worked for you!
So beautiful!!!!!!
Thank you, Tracy! I owe your blog a visit, I’m sure your beauty rivals these.
Come visit antsy time!! And no rivalry at all!!!:-)
Water like silk. 🙂
