Autumn Lake ~ Day 33

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
Take kindly the council of years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
You are child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life
keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams
it is still a beautiful world.

  1. I thought of you today – your pictures – the leaves are turning here in Athens (ga) now, much after yours. So beautiful. I’ve loved Desiderata for 45 years. It’s beautiful here.

    • Yes, it was remarkably still this morning! I thought I had seen clear reflections before, but today it was just uncanny.

      • You are very welcome. I started to read it fast, just scrolling through the pictures, and then I had to go back. Upon reading from the beginning, slowly, I discovered a restful peace…almost as if I was on the lake, just listening to the birds in the beautiful trees.

  2. My husband and I have spent the last 20 minutes being inspired by your pictures and words. Hoppy “my husband said’ your words are as beautiful as your pictures” amazing work here! Heart to heart Robyn
